Why am I receiving a new credit card?
As the final step in the merger process, all Portland Local 8 Federal Credit Union Visa cards will be converted to ILWU Credit Union’s credit card program on August 24, 2026.
Will my interest rate change as part of this conversion and card issue?
No. Your interest rate will remain the same.
Will I have a new credit card account number?
Yes. Your new card will have a new look and a new card number
Will I be charged an annual fee?
No. There is no annual fee.
Will I have a new PIN (Personal Identification Number) so I can access cash from my credit card?
A PIN will be mailed to you a few days after you receive your new ILWU Credit Union Visa. You can change the PIN, once you receive the PIN mailer.
My existing card does not expire for quite a while; can I continue using my existing card until expiration?
No. Your existing card will no longer work after Sunday, August 23, 2026. Instructions will come with your new card to ensure it is ready to use on or after August 24, 2026.
Will all merchants be able to accept my new ILWU Credit Union Visa?
Yes. Your card will be accepted at all merchant locations that accept Visa.
What do I need to do if I have preauthorized or recurring payments that are tied to my existing Portland Local 8 FCU Credit Card?
To ensure there is no interruption in recurring or preauthorized payments (such as monthly phone, electricity, gas bills, insurance, clubs), contact the merchant on or after August 24, 2026, with your new card number and expiration date.
Will the due date for my credit card payment change?
No. Your due date will stay the same. Your due date is the 25th of each month.
Will I need to send my payment to a new location after the conversion?
Yes. The new address will be included on the statement. If you pay this bill through online bill payment, you will need
to update the mailing address and the new credit card number on August 24, 2026, to ensure that your payments
continue to be processed. Please use the following payment address:

If I setup my monthly credit card payment as an automatic ACH transfer, payroll deduction or as a recurring transfer, do I have to make any changes?
To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact the provider of this service (i.e., another financial institution or bill pay service) on or after August 24, 2026, and provide your new card number and payment address of P.O. Box 7629, Long Beach, CA 90807.
How will I access my account information for my new credit card?
Following the conversion on August 24, 2026, you will be able to conveniently access your credit card information 24/7 through ILWU Credit Union’s Online Banking and Mobile Banking App. You can view balances, credit limits, and transactions, lock and unlock your card, set travel notices, make payments, transfers, and more!
What is the CARGO Rewards Program?
All ILWU Credit Union Platinum Rewards credit cards are automatically enrolled in the program. You will earn 1 point per dollar spent on qualified transactions. You can redeem these points through our CARGO Rewards site available through our Online or Mobile Banking App or at rewards.ilwucu.org
Will my credit card statement be mailed or emailed (eStatements)?
Your credit card statement will be delivered based on your current ILWU Credit Union statement preference. If you currently receive paper statements, your credit card statement will be mailed. If you are enrolled in eStatements, it will be sent electronically.
