Exciting News! Portland Local 8 FCU and ILWU Credit Union Announce Merger.
We are very excited to announce that the membership of Portland Local 8 Federal Credit Union resoundingly approved a resolution on August 20, 2025 to merge with ILWU Credit Union. Thank you to all the members who participated in the vote and ensured your voices were heard. We believe together, we will be stronger. We thank you for putting your trust in ILWU Credit Union to continue to serve the financial needs of you and your family.
Effective September 1, 2025, Portland Local 8 FCU legally became part of ILWU Federal Credit Union. On behalf of the ILWU Credit Union and Portland Local 8 FCU Teams, we would like to welcome you to the combined ILWU Credit Union! For over 70 years, Portland Local 8 FCU and ILWU Credit Union, respectively, share a long history of improving the financial well-being of ILWU members while giving back to the local communities where our members live and work. Through this new partnership, we are honored to continue that important legacy and bring you and your family the best value for your membership while expanding community programs and partnerships with the Locals we serve. As an ILWU Credit Union member, you’ll continue to belong to a credit union that understands the needs of ILWU members and has products and services designed specifically for union workers and their families.
On December 1, 2025, your accounts will be transferred to ILWU Credit Union.
The core processing systems of Portland Local 8 FCU and ILWU Credit Union will be consolidated and converted on December 1, 2025. You will receive important information in the coming months about our integration plans, any changes to your accounts, and the new benefits and services that will soon be available to you. We will work diligently to ensure your transition to ILWU Credit Union is as smooth as possible and we will keep you informed about any changes to your account(s) and services along the way.
